ITA Youth Strategy Review – invitation to participate

The ITA is reviewing their Youth Strategy in order to increase the numbers of youth who continue in apprenticeships after high school graduation and complete a trade certification. The Youth Strategy review includes an assessment of existing programs (ACE-IT, Secondary School Apprenticeship (SSA), and Yes 2 It), as well as identifying program enhancements to increase youth participation in apprenticeship programs.

This review will include consultations during November 2012 with key stakeholders including students, parents, youth apprentices, employers, school districts, career facilitators, technical education teachers, Industry Training Organizations and the Ministry of Education. A series of in-person and tele-conference focus groups and interviews are being conducted, as well as an online survey.

The online survey will be used to gather information from a wide range of stakeholders. The survey can be found at www.surveygizmo.com/s3/1069357/ITA-Youth-Strategy-Review. The survey will be open until November 30, 2012. Please take the time to participate – your input will help to shape youth trades programs in BC. Queenswood Consulting Group is offering an incentive to complete the survey with a chance to win one of three $100 draw prizes.
